This volume according to several fine articles and reviews in the recent
Mid-America Journal of Theology is a very helpful and well balanced work on the application of salvation. Bavinck was caught up in the midst of a hot denominational debate over issues of justification and the covenant. Here Bavinck shows himself to be a careful and judicious theologian giving proper biblical attention to both objective and subjective aspects of salvation. Had this volume been available (and read!) in the English speaking church 3 decades ago, so much error against which we struggle today may have been avoided!
